Okay so now thats out the way. . .I need a bike that is good on gas, and reliable?

Commuting back and forth to school and wrk. . it doesnt need to be fast though i like speed and power. . though it has to really move when i need it to. . . plz include tank capacity and mpg in your suggestion if you will. . .appreciate it. . .

  1. http://www.apriliausa.com/modelli/road/m... this bike has a automatic transmission and also it has 4 different modes, which let you choose modes such as touring which can be used around town and it reduces fuel comsumption or sport mode which has hardcore performance and fast acceleration, and then it has rain mode for wet roads and you can also shift gears manually if u feel like it. The bike also has a storage compartmet where the fuel tank is supposed to be and the fuel tank is under the seat. The room in the compartment is enough room for a helmet and more, i though u might like that since ur going to school. I couldn't find MPG on the website but i am sure if you search around you could find it on the interent. It should be efficient because most import bike usually are.

Hard to pick a better one than Kawasaki's 250 Ninja.  It gets 78 or so MPG, according to a recent article in Motorcyclist magazine.  MSRP is $3,500.  Until the price of fuel shot up, they could be had at a minor discount, though I'm told that now dealers can't keep them in stock, for the very reason of being so fuel efficient.  I haven't looked at the used market lately, and I would not be surprised to see the ones in good condition being Not For Sale, for the same reason.  Insurance should be extremely affordable due to the low displacement.  It has long been hailed as an excellent beginner bike, and even having a certain amount of appeal to a more experienced rider, if s/he's not in need of a racer--the same Motorcyclist article noted that of the frugal fuel sippers they tested, only the Ninja 250 was able to (just barely) crack 100 mph.  Added bonus:  It has no "250" badging, so you needn't worry about being taunted for riding "such a tiny bike".  Anyone who can tell the difference will also know it's a good machine, with an iron grip on its niche.  So to sum it up: 1) Can be had new for less than the NEW cost of most other (larger) motorcycles.  2) Looks good  3)Comparatively gentle insurance rates. 4) Is legitimately able to survive any lane of the freeway at any time of day  5) 75+ mpg and oh, yeah, 4.8 gal tank.   Yeah, doesn't get a lot better than that.

  3. Well, like I've said in many other posts, I really like the SV650 as a commuter. I don't own one so that's not why I suggest it. It is a good mid sized bike that isn't too expensive and the V-Twin power makes it a joy to ride. Enough power and torque to be fun, but not so much to intimidate you. It holds 4.5 gallons and gets 51 MPG city and 57.5 MPG highway.
