Okay this is hypothetical, but IF, IF, the Jays were to sweep the Rays... (rest of question in details)?

...do you think they would be in the AL East race again, I mean would they be a serious contender. On paper they have a really decent team. If they swept, that would potentially put them 5.5 behind the leader especially if Boston loses tonight.

Very Decent Team the Jays.

Good Pitching, Very Solid Hitting can bring them back into contention in the AL East.

IF they sweep its not really certain the would contend for the rest of the season.

They are 2 good teams in front of them. Its going to be difficult to get back in the race completely when you have to face the Red Sox and Yankees.

I give them a good show as any to make a push.

We will see if there Buyers or Sellers which will really say how serious contender they are.

As of Right Now. I Give them a 20% chance of getting back into contention and 2% chance they will make the playoff's.

They may catch up to the racers, but they will never be in the race. No way in h**l can the Jays beat out the Yanks, Sox, or Rays for the division or Wild Card

5.5 is still a ways out, with three teams to leapfrog. and when two of those teams are the most storied, gritty franchises in the game, it makes the fourth place team in the East seem like nothing more than a footnote. but they would not be even close to eliminated, mathematically.

Definitely...I said a week ago that by the beginning of August the A.L. East would be a four team race...the Jays have a schedule in August that basically has them playing the Red Sox, Yankees, and Rays all month so the A.L. East could be a really interesting race down the stretch.
