While there are some initial costs (headshots, etc.), $7,000 is an extravagant amount of money and I believe that you might be involved in a scam.  Please, before you and your mother go any further, contact the BBB to get feedback on this organization.  Also, ask the agency for a copy of the contract (without signing it) so that you can look it over carefully.  Hint that you are going to have a lawyer look it over, and seriously consider actually doing so.

If there seems to be a big name associated with this, research it carefully.  Sometimes agencies will use a name in a way that makes people think they are responsible for that person's success, when in reality they might have just been a short term client long before their success.  This pulls new clients in, though.

There are MANY legitimate agencies where you can get started for a lot less than $7,000.  Have your mother contact me via my profile (you can email me from there) and I would be glad to talk with her.

As for how to raise $3500, for a 13 year old that is going to take A LOT of time and effort.  How many chores/errands can you think of that are worth $35?  Try to sell that, X 100.  A night of babysitting, car washes, mowing lawns...but really, I think this is a scam.  Please do not invest this kind of money.

Please don't tell me it's John Robert Powers, John Casablancas, Barbizon, Pacific Model & Talent, or something similar. They are overpriced acting schools that will take your money and never find you work.

I am trying to save you $3500, which is better than trying to tell you how to earn it only so that these folks can steal it. But to answer your question, at your age, you will have to do a lot of babysitting, lawnmowing, chores, and save every bit of your birthday/Christmas money to earn $3500, and it will probably take you longer than a year.

Why do you need to come up with $7000 to go into a job? That sounds like a scam. It should never cost you that much money to get hired.
