Okay what is this called

okay one time i was home alone with my dad while my sister was at her friends house. i was watching tv in the morning and then i fell asleep cuz it was like eight in the morning.well what happened was i fell a sleep and woke up but i couldnt move any part of my body.i was freaked out.when i opened my eyes,everything was red.and i could not move.my dad calls it sleep parylisis,but mom calls it a panic attack.help me please i dont know what its called!!!!!!

I can't explain why you were seeing red, but I think your dad is on the right track with sleep paralysis.
