  1. Here is a step by step explanation for the first one:

So you need two numbers that when multiplied you get 36... Start by listing the factor pairs of 36:

    1 x 36

    2x 18

    3 x 12

    4 x 9

    6 x 6

Now which two numbers when added together give a sum of 13?

    Well, 4 + 9 =13 so 4 and 9 are the answer.

Remember the sum is the answer when you add and the product is the answer when you multiply.

    Good luck!

  2. The first solution is 9 and 4.      9+4= 13       9x4 = 36

    The second solution is 3 and 2    3+2=5        3x2= 6

    The second solution is 2 and 12     2+12=14     2x12= 24

  3. let the first number be A

    n the second be B

    A+B=13.......... eq1

    AxB=36...........eq2

from eq1 A=13-B now put the new value of A in eq2

    (13-B)xB=36

    .

    .

    .

find value of B then put it in eq1 n find value of A.

    ya welcome.

  4. 9 + 4 = 13 and 9 x 4 = 36

    3 + 2 = 5 and 3 x 2 = 6

    12 + 2 = 14 and 12 x 2 = 24

    Tada!!!

  5. just think about what combinations of numbers are likely to result in both the sum and poduct; you have to cancel out the ones that aren't working for both of them. you can do it it your head, or write out the calculations:

  6. omg what do u learn in school these days !

    4+9=13    4x9=36

    2+3=5      2x3=6

    12+2=14   12x2=24
