  1. x/2 + 3x/4 = 1/8

    8 ( x/2 +3x/4 = 1/8)

    4x +6x =1

    10x =1

    x = 1/10

  2. Good grief. I don't know what grade you're in but I have a feeling I'll regret taking Geo Plus with Algebra II. Ugh, then there's Trig and Calculus.

  3. x/2+3x/4-1/8

    You can combine the first two terms if you use a common denominator

    x/2 = 2x/4

    =2x/4 + 3x/4 - 1/8

    =5x/4 - 1/8

    There is no variable in the last term, so that's as far as you can go, unless you find a common denominator again (5x/4 = 10x/8) and change it to

    =(10x - 1)/ 8
