  1. It is ILLEGAL for you to taken out of school during term time.

Your parents will be fined, taken to court and possibly sent to jail for failing to make sure you go to school EVERY day.

My Aunt died in July, and her grandchildren had to school on the day of the funeral.

  2. Well, they can't not 'let' you go, but they won't be happy and you'll have to make sure you catch up on the work you missed.

It's not a good idea to be taking time out during the school term, especially if it's during year 11. You're going to have a tonne of work.

  3. As it is for family i don't think they can stop you but you will still need to tell them you are going. They may not like it but i say tough.

  4. your allowed 2 weeks a year not first last or exam weeks

  5. Its not a very good idea to go on holiday during the school term especially in year 11. But for the circumstances of this holiday it is likely that it will be allowed. You need to speak to those at the school office and get a holiday form and let them know the reasons and the time. Most schools in the UK only allow around two weeks i.e. ten school days off except for special circumstance will they allow more then 2 weeks.

Since its only the start of term there are likely to let you unless it is a very strict school, I was in year 11 last year and was allowed to take two off in January for my brothers wedding in Bangladesh, I convinced them that I will do the work that I would miss on holiday and make sure I caught up with everything else. I did as I promised and did well in my GCSEs even though altogether through Year 11 I missed around 15 days of school.

So, if you are allowed you have got to make sure you catch with all the work and coursework that you are likely to miss and don't fall behind with anything otherwise it affect you GCSEs.

    I hope I helped!! :D

  6. In which state do you attend school?

Each school has a specific number of days that a student may be absent and still get credit for the course. If you miss too much, you will have to repeat the semester (or take the class in summer school if it is offered).

Ask your school counselor or attendance office secretary.

(The information should also be stated in your student handbook.)

  7. Nobody can stop you but if you promise the school that you will catch up on any work etc and take work with you, then that will make them feel happier.  Speak to your tutor on tuesday!

  8. They cant not let u go but they wont b happy bout it.

They'l probs want 2 talk 2 ur dad n explain the importance of been ther, espesh in yr 11 blah blah blah. But coz its family they wont say no.

U'll hav 2 catch up tho. And yr 11, ther will b alot 2 catch up on.
