Oklahoma City Thunder an ideal destination for veterans like Ray Allen, Andre Miller and Kirk Hinrich
Oklahoma City Thunder are currently playing in their first ever NBA Finals against Miami Heat and even though they might not be able to go all the way to lift the Larry O`Brien trophy, their exploits in the regular and post season
have definitely marked them as one of the best teams in NBA, one which will be ruling the roost in the years to follow.
As the current roster stands, OKC have Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook signed on long term contracts and most of the remaining team intact at least until the end of next season. Derek Fisher who joined the team midway during
the season is the only player heading into free agency over the summer and may be returning to the Thunder for another season.
Fisher has made an impact on the Thunder this year with his leadership, but his performances on the court are just not consistent and powerful as OKC would have liked.  That may force them to add some other veteran in their lineup.
Their best option would be to consider bringing in a veteran player like Ray Allen whose contract has expired with the Boston Celtics. If the Thunder do acquire Ray Allen, they would get their hands on the leagues’ best three point
shooter and considering how they are struggling from the perimeter at the moment, Allen’s addition is certainly a good way to move forward.
Another possible option would be to consider bringing in another experienced point guard like Andre Miller from the Denver Nuggets. There is also the possibility of bringing in Kirk Hinrich over from the Atlanta Hawks. He may be
inclined to leave the team after not getting much playing time in last season.
OKC do not promise much playing time either with the likes of James Harden coming off the bench as the best Sixth Man in the League and the likes of Nick Collison and Daequan Cook waiting, however given the possibility of joining
a Championship calibre team, who are going to be staying up there for a little while, the Thunder present an intriguing option for players heading into free agency.
OKC were the best team in the Western Conference this year and coming out of a conference full of powerhouses like San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks is not an easy task. The young Thundering unit rose to
the occasion and stream rolled their way through the playoffs. After getting past the first two rounds with much ease they were down 0-2 deficit against the Spurs, but displayed poise and calm in pressure situations to make it to the finals.
They are at present 1-3 down in the NBA Finals, but one thing is sure that this season is just the start for the Thunder.
