Oklahoma City Thunder hoping to make a comeback against Miami Heat – NBA Update
Playing the first ever NBA Finals of their franchise history and being down 1-2 against Miami Heat, the young squad of Oklahoma City Thunder would have been expected to be in damped spirits.
They would have been predicted to succumb under the immense pressure that comes along with playing at the highest level. However even after blowing away a double digit lead in Game 3 to lose it, the spirits in the Thunder camp
have felt no change and the optimism of making a comeback into the series is at large.
This is not the first time the Thunder have faced a deficit which looked insurmountable. They turned things around in the Western Conference Finals after being down 2-0 against the mighty and seemingly unbeatable San Antonio Spurs.
OKC won four straight games that time and will be looking to do the same against Miami by bringing a similar approach with their game.
All season Thunder have taken it one game at a time and despite all the obstacles placed in their way, they have been getting the job done.
"We know we were down 2-0 against San Antonio and everybody thought the series was over,” head coach Scott Brooks said. "But I know our guys, they're very competitive, they're very resilient. They've always showed that type of
effort every game, and we've always been a great bounce back team."
So if anybody has written off the Thunder just yet, they might want to wait a little more because this OKC will be rearing to make a comeback come Tuesday night.
It`s not been like they have been blown out by Miami in the last two games. OKC have gone down fighting and had it not been for a few plays or a few controversial no-calls, the outcome of this series would have been completely
different at the moment.
"Just a couple of possessions and we win that game. So it's not about us being down. We just watched film and we played a pretty good game, probably the best game that we've played in this series, as far as defensively being physical
and active. So just bring that same type of effort in Game 4 and we'll win." – James Harden , who struggled in Game 3 said.
This never dying attitude of the Thunder will be the pivotal factor in their bid to make their way back in to the series. In the past two years, OKC have been constantly on the rise and if one thing can be said about them is that
they learn from their mistakes very quickly.
It took them two games to realize that they cannot beat the immensely experienced Spurs line up by just going up against them trying to get their scores by driving off the dribble. They had to change their system and work their
way around the veteran squad by passing the ball better and it worked wonders for them.
However for the first time in this year`s playoffs, they have faced a team which has been able to keep up with their fast pace offense. In order for them to beat Miami`s star studded line up of LeBron James Chris Bosh and Dwyane
Wade, they will have to devise a strategy which would involve them getting as physical as the Heat have been in the series so far.
