Oklahoma City Thunder leading the Los Angeles Lakers 48-45 – Half Time Report: NBA Playoffs 2012
After getting blown by in first game of this Western Conference Semi Final series by the hands of the Oklahoma City Thunder, how would the Los Angeles Lakers respond? With the game in process at the Chesapeake Energy Arena, LAL has been able to keep it close at the half way stage with the score 45-48 in OKC`s favour.
Russell Westbrook has been the leading scorer for the Thunder in this series and is again leading the way in this game with 12 points so far. However, he seems to be struggling to find his shooting rhythm, only connecting on 4 of his 10 attempts.
Kevin Durant on the other hand is a 100% from the field and the free throw line. He has connected on all four of his field goal attempts and has successfully knocked down both free throws on his only trip to the charity stripe to record 10 points so far. The visit to the line came at the 4: 17 mark in the second quarter.
On the other hand, Kobe Bryant is 4 of 11 on the night with 10 points so far while Andrew Bynum is leading the Lakers with 12 points at the half. Pau Gasol has also added 8 points to go along with 4 rebounds on the night so far.
Both sides are struggling to find their shooting prowess from long range. OKC have attempted 7 shots from beyond the arc and have been successful only twice, with one coming from Derek Fisher and the other one coming from Thabo Sefolosha. Lakers on the other hand haven’t had much luck either from long range with their only three coming from Metta World Peace out of the 6 total attempts by the whole team.
However the significant factor in the Lakers being able to keep the game close so far has been their 100% shooting from the free throw line. They have connected on all of their 10 attempts so far. The Thunder have also recorded 10 points from the charity stripe but they have also missed two free throws with both of the misses coming from Westbrook.
Despite Lakers having the size advantage, OKC have been able to outrebound LA 19-17 at the half way point in the ball game.
