Oklahoma City Thunder looking to regroup in game-4 of Western Conference Finals–NBA Playoffs Update
The Oklahoma City Thunder will be looking to bounce back in a big way as they host the Dallas Mavericks for game-4 of the Western Conference finals on Monday night at the Oklahoma City Arena.
After a 106-100 victory in game-2 at Dallas, Thunder claimed a home-court advantage in the third game of the series. However, the Mavericks knocked them down 93-87 on Saturday night. OKC trailed by 15 points at the end of the very
first quarter of the game in their own home court. They could not climb their way out of it and allowed Dallas to intensify their defence, taking a 52-36 lead at halftime. The Mavs continued to play well in the third quarter and carried a 70-56 lead into the
final stanza.
Despite a poor in the first three quarters, the young Thunder muscle back into the game in the fourth quarter, getting to the foul line for 36 shots, and managed to make it a four-point contest with 17 seconds to go in the game.
However, the Mavs walked away with victory, leading the series by 2-1.
Coming back to game-3, the Thunder are all set to tie the series with the “Get angry and get a win” formula, that the Mavs used in second game of the series.
Thunder guard Daequan Cook was quiet confident about Monday’s game and said, "If you think about it, this is a must-win at the end of the day," "If we win tomorrow, it is a three-game series. Two of the three games are in Dallas,
so you want to take advantage of this opportunity to win at home tomorrow night and hopefully go to Dallas and win one, too."
With the crucial fourth game of the series around the corner, the Thunder coach Scott Brooks clearly stated that Kevin Durant and rest of the players have to be aggressive from the start in the upcoming event in order to keep the
opponent team under pressure.
Brooks said, "We are really good when we go at you and make things happen and do not wait for it to happen." "I am anticipating our guys will come out with that type of mindset, going in and attacking and making it happen and do
not wait for it to happen."
Thunder All-Star, Durant, and Russell Westbrook are at their peak in the finals with 29.3 and 22.7 points per game respectively. The only thing this young team has to do is to take full advantage of the home court and home crowd
support in the next game. This would provide them with an excellent opportunity to level the series before moving to Dallas for fifth and sixth game of the series.
