Oklahoma City Thunder move to top spot in the League - NBA Report
For the first time this season and in their franchise history Oklahoma City Thunder are the number one team in the league. The road to get to the spot was not easy at all. Thunder has had a great season so far and has passed every
test that has come along their way.
Last week they defeated the title contenders Heat and on this Sunday they defeated the Bulls and did a very good job of it. As dominant as the Thunder have looked this season, a lot of hard work has been done from their side to
get to this point.
Oklahoma City thunder are a pretty young team with all stars like Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook in their roster they look like one of the strong contenders to go all the way to lift the Championship this season and with the
support cast of James Harden, Serge Ibaka and Nick Collison it does look that way.
Kevin Durant, the two time scoring champion in the NBA is currently one of the strongest contenders for the MVP race this season. He has already achieved much in his young NBA career and with the improvement he has shown from the
previous seasons he looks all set to be one of the greats in the NBA.
In Russell Westbrook, they have one of the best point guards in the league. He is also known for his astounding explosiveness to the rim and this year he has already improved on his three point shooting. If he continues to work
the same way he will be more successful as his NBA career progresses on.
If the main cast is impressive, the support cast is not very far behind. In Serge Ibaka they have one of the best defensive players in the entire league, Ibaka is known for his defensive expertise and getting the ball past this
big man is a very tough job. His defensive exploits do not necessarily mean that he does not play offense; Ibaka has a very impressive shooting from long range and fits into the Thunder fast pace offense very well.
In James Harden and Nick Collison they have probably one of the strongest bench players in the league. If they had been playing on any other team they would have been starters but with the OKC they have understood and adapted very
well to their roles in the roster.
Last year when Oklahoma lost to the Dallas Mavericks it was said that the Oklahoma squad lacked the experience required for a Championship team. But this year Oklahoma have come back stronger with the addition of Derrick Fisher
they have added the required experience. Kendrick Perkins was also their last year but this season he has improved on his physical fitness and has provided Oklahoma with the much required experience as well.
As the regular season is coming to an end, their title ambitions are in their own hands. We just have to wait and see what the Oklahoma City Thunder plan to do with the good start they have had to the season.
