It will still be basically the same team with a few new names. As far as the new name? It sounds like a name more suited for a semi pro league. Do you think they will have success in the first few years or will it take at least a decade for them to win consistently? I wish the team the best in their new city and look forward to the Atlanta Hawks beating them in the coming years.

  1. D League name for a D League City..............................

    I agree with "What ?"

  2. Despite getting Kevin Durant 2nd overall in last years draft it will take several years at least for them to have a winning record.

They had the worst record in the Western Conference this past season (20-62).

They just signed C.J. Miles to an offer sheet but he has averaged 4 points, 1.3 rebounds, .8 assists, .4 steals & .1 blocks per game.

They may also have a difficult time attracting quality free agents because they are so bad and Oklahoma City is seen as a dust bowl and possibly the smallest market in the NBA.

Even though over 16,000 people want season tickets for the upcoming season let's see if that continues if they continue to lose.

  3. The Atlanta hawks have already beaten them every single game.......except for maybe one, but oh well! And I heard that Oklhahoma is like a state with lots of tornadoes, so they better hope and [ray nothing will happen during a game!

  4. 2 points

    I'm sorry, but I don't care.

  5. It's UGLY!! Plus, we in MN have our soccor team named the Thunder.

  6. Well they do have a lot of young players which is a plus but they are playing in the West...If they were in the East they would be in the top 5 bc the East just sucks after the Celtics, Pistons, and maybe the Cavs.  They could sneak into the playoffs next year but seeing them win a title anytime soon is unrealistic.  Once Tim Duncan, Shaq, Kobe retire maybe they have a chance but then there is the Hornets and TrailBlazers.  So they just need experience and maybe they can contend in the packed West.

  7. They should drop the "City" part of the name. It will make it easier to say.

Also, I think they should have named themselves the "Mustangs".

  8. I thought they should have been called the Cyclones. This is kind of a new trendy thing, naming the team with something that doesn't end in "s." They probably think that will help them sell merchandise. The fans are going to have to be patient, because they are getting a very bad team.

  9. ha! sounds like a D-League name. and it is a big rip off the warriors' logo and mascot. as you know the warriors logo has a lightning bolt across the W. and while lightning and thunder are 2 completely different entities, people normally associate thunder with lightning. plus the warriors mascots name is Thunder. knowing our cheap @ss owner, he will probably sue or do something retarded.

but it is the same team, i still think theyre going to struggle this year. but they got some good pieces in place already.

  10. They had a pretty good draft adding on with Kevin Durant. I don't think they're quite playoff material yet, but I think they could definitely win some games. I wish them luck for sure.
