Oklahoma City Thunder starting line-up and the next NBA season: Featured Report (Part-1)

Last year, the Oklahoma City Thunder played wonderfully and advanced to the Western Conference finals with huge surprise. They played persistently throughout the regular season and qualified for the playoffs.  Their same consistent
performance was also proved well in the postseason where the entire Thunder roster played with huge heart and surprised every opponent in the league. The Dallas Mavericks were the only team which challenged their superiority and defeated them in the Western
Conference Finals.
Despite the loss from the Mavericks, the Thunder’s entire management was extremely happy for their tremendous performance which was also commended by many basketball experts. No doubt the Thunder’s entire side is exceptionally
talented but before going into the next season, they should focus on their team combination and on their offensive game. Their starting line-up is well balanced but there are still some areas where their several players are lacking and little improvements
will make them more competitive next season.
Russell Westbrook:
Last season, the Oklahoma City Thunder’s point guard Russell Westbrook played exceptionally well and helped his team to advance into the playoffs. His overall performance remained consistent throughout the regular season. Not only
in the regular season but he also played wonderfully in the postseason where he averaged 23.8 points per game. Westbrook is an essential part of the Thunder’s starting line-up and always gives his best performance in every situation. His brilliant performance
was also one of key reasons behind as the Thunder went all the way into the Western Finals.
Although, Westbrook’s game has enormously improved in three years especially with the Thunder, but there are still some significant areas where he needs little improvement. His offensive game has impressed many as he always looked
aggressive on the court. He along with his teammate, Kevin Durant looked extremely terrific in the offseason. Both youngsters played with full energy and benefited their franchise at every stage.
Westbrook, whose game is extremely fast, needs some more direction. He should focus more on his shooting skills and passing abilities. Some basketball experts have noted down regarding his little deficiencies. Westbrook has been
impressive with his shooting skills but down the stretch his game slows down which needs more attention and more consistence. However, his defence is good and also improving in every season. Overall, Russell Westbrook is exceptionally a very good player but
little improvements in his passing and ball control will make him more competitive next season.
Thabo Sefolosha:
Thabo Sefolosha has been playing in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for almost five years now while his game has also improved in all these years. Sefolosha is quick and defensively very strong. The Oklahoma City Thunder
and its aggressive playing strategy have always demanded more from Sefolosha. Sefolosha is a terrific defender and plays up-front, but his offensive game certainly needs some more improvement in this offseason. His defensive ball play has always impressed
many but being more competitive in the league he should focus more on his attacking game.
Sefolosha should also work on his scoring abilities which were not consistent last season. Sefolosha played total 79 games in 2010-2011regular season and averaged 5.1 points per game. The former Chicago Bulls’ player Sefolosha
has still many years ahead and timely improvement in his game will benefit him and the Thunder in the long run.
