Oklahoma City Thunder starting line-up and the next NBA season: Featured Report (Part-2)
Kevin Durant:
Kevin Durant has been playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder for almost four years and still playing with great energy. His true commitment with his game has always proved well for the Thunder. He is also one of the best players
around in the National Basketball Association (NBA) who has in no time achieved many honours in his professional basketball career. Durant, who was declared the top scorer in season 2010-2011, gathered a great deal of appreciation from all the basketball lovers
and from his loyal fans.
Durant played brilliantly throughput the last season and now preparing hard for the next season. No doubt his game was exceptionally well in the last season but the next season will even be more competitive for him. All the other
teams are also preparing hard and busy in making different kind of strategies for their every opponent.
Kevin Durant, who is very quick and athletic on the court, certainly plays very aggressive against every team in the league. He score points with exceptional pace but some basketball experts have highlighted his little deficiencies.
According to those experts, Durant needs some more persistence in his game. Last season, people have also witnessed in many games as he lost the grip on the game and performed poorly down the stretch.
In several games he only managed to score just 8-12 points and disappointed his team. Overall, Durant is a world class player but he just need to focus on his steady performance. On the other hand, Durant is now well groomed in
the league’s environment and should focus on his inconsistency which will hurt him in the near future.
Serge Ibaka:
The Oklahoma City Thunder surprised last season when their entire roster shattered many teams in the league with their brilliant performances. The Thunder’s entire team played with big heart and helped their franchise to qualify
for the NBA Western Conference Finals. Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant were the key contributors in their success but the rest of the Thunder roster also played with full thrust. Forward Serge Ibaka was also one of them who played consistently and helped
the Thunder to advance that far in the competition.
Serge Ibaka’s average remained consistent throughout the regular season. Not only in the regular season but even in the post-season he scored with consistency. He played total 82 regular season’s games and averaged 9.9 points per
game while played total 17 post-season games where he averaged 9.8 points per game.
Having only two years of experience, Ibaka’s game is heading towards right direction. He is not quick on court which is little alarming for his game but overall he is a well groomed player who can be lethal for any challenger in
the league. The next season would be more fascinating to watch as every team is coming up with different playing strategies for every opponent in the league.
Kendrick Perkins:
The Oklahoma City Thunder’s starting line-up is getting ready to make a big impression next season. Their entire roster especially their best five players are preparing hard in this offseason. Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant, Serge
Ibaka and Kendrick Perkins are in media limelight and getting swift attention from all the interested fans.
Last season’s phenomenal performance is still making the Thunder management proud while their management still believes as their team can repeat the same performance in the upcoming season. The entire side is hopeful for their
next season’s chances and organizing themselves for the next season especially the long time veteran Kendrick Perkins practicing hard and trying to improve his game. Perkins, who previously played for the Boston Celtics for almost eight years, arrived in the
Thunder in February 2011.
His arrival certainly made the Thunder stronger on several grounds. He made the Thunder defensively more competitive but his offensive game still needs some additional improvement. Perkins’ overall performance was good after coming
into the Thunder but in this offseason he should work more on his ball control and attacking game which will benefit him and the Thunder in near future.
