Oklahoma City Thunder’s Kevin Durant - The possible NBA MVP for 2011 (Part 2)
Kevin Durant had amassed a total of 205 points in just 9 games at a sensational average of 22.9 which earned him a place in the top three scorers of the competition. Truly magical to have scored over two hundred points in such few games. The boy was a scoring
machine in the contest.
In the individual scoring highs in a game, Durant stood alone, winning by a significant margin with a high of 38 points that he had scored against Lithuania in the tight and close Semi final, practically carving the road for his country into the final.
Other stats high that he achieved were mostly turnovers in a single game by any player. He was responsible for 7 turnovers in the match against Brazil. It was the wonder boy-Durant that had contributed to most of the victories of USA. His individual efforts
had also contributed to the U.S achieving the highest team score in a single game and also the highest number of Rebounds against Angola and Slovenia, respectively. The U.S ended up with an unbelievable 100 percent Free Throw Percentage for the entire event.
Durant's delightful run in the FIBA Championships made him the fire of USA’s basketball team. He instantly was a star as he led USA to the championship whilst being the youngest player in Team USA. Kevin Durant was recognized for his astounding performance
by the International Basketball Federation and the deserving humble genius of a player was made Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
It was a truly inspirational and arousing performance by the kid. This was also no doubt a defining period for Kevin where he showed everyone globally what he was capable of and what kind of abilities and flair he was endowed with.
Other than the FIBA Championships' success he obtained, Durant also had a great all-round year. He emerged as a glorious player at the beginning of the year and just kept going on. Kevin has been sensational in every aspect of the game. He stands tall at
an inch shorter than 7 feet. The 22-year-old magician has achieved some great feats in 2010.
Durant- the emerging great- also scored the most points an individual scored throughout the last year, being at the top in the NBA. To further add to the magnificent challenges he has overcome, Durant played a NBA title match and stood proud as the youngest
basketball player ever to be victorious in it.
Durant amassed a fabulous twenty seven points in the last game of his previous season. For the year 2010, he was just behind the becoming legend, Lebron James and was the number two Most Valuable Player for National Basketball Association. His instant fame
has leaded him to be known by all basketball lovers. The thunders have thus found their lightening in the form of Durant.
Soon he appeared on magazine covers, received sponsor offers from the best in the business and already is being noticed by managers and owners of teams. It’s no wonder that he is a part of The Prestigious Eleven, chosen from the entire organization.
With such depth in credentials, averages and stats, Kevin Durant has most certainly made the think tank of NBA contemplate on making him NBA’s Most Valuable Player in 2011. He has shown the magnitude of his court-shattering abilities.
He has placed himself in a position where he will only get better and get further recognized and loved. It is just a matter of time before he is ranked and compared with the best players around. The best part is that, from here on in, it’s all going up the
ladder for Kevin Durant. He has made himself the youngest basketball icon.
