January 28th vs. Washington Wizards
Playing at Oklahoma City Arena, Russell Westbrook clinched a triple-double against the Washington Wizards, spearheading the Oklahoma City Thunder to an electrifying 124-117 double-overtime win. Westbrook racked up a game-high 35
points, 13 rebounds and 13 assists and displayed one of his best scoring nights of the season.
After making a strong comeback in the fourth quarter to escalate a tie 103-103, Russell provided a substantial support to Kevin Durant in the double-overtime to wrap up a thrilling victory.
February 5th vs. Utah Jazz
On February 5th, the Oklahoma City Thunder arrived at Energy Solutions Arena to take on against the Utah Jazz. Westbrook showed his brilliance once again, landing 33 points and dishing out 10 assists to lead the Thunder
to a comprehensive 121-105 victory over the Jazz.
He was especially impressive from beyond the arc this time, burying four scorching blows in four attempts. Westbrook’s major assault came in the second half of the game where he scored 27 points out of his 33, smashing the Wizards
out of the game.
January 17th vs. Los Angeles Lakers
Pitched against the two times defending champions, the mighty Los Angeles Lakers, Westbrook erupted with yet another maverick performance. Although, he failed to steer his team to a victory against the mighty Lakers, however he
displayed an exceptional performance against one of the best defensive teams in the league.
The second year guard had a double-double with 32 points and 12 assists as he took the Lakers to the brink. The Lakers took the charge aggressively right from the very beginning and sealed a comprehensive advantage before going
into the final quarter. However Westbrook was standing in their path towards the romp. Westbrook rallied hard for the Thunder down the stretch and brought them within three points late in the period. However, the Thunder failed to score in the defining moments
of the game and lost the game 101-94.
March 9th vs. Philadelphia 76ers
Playing at the Wells Fargo Center, the Thunder squeaked past the Philadelphia 76ers for an exhilarating 110-105 overtime victory. Westbrook was again sensational, racking up a game-high 27 points and 12 assists to put his team
on the frontline.
After a slow start, Westbrook lifted the momentum with the top scorer of the night Durant and took the game towards a fourth quarter tie at 101-101.Russell then landed a jumper followed by a layup shot early in the overtime as
the Thunder clinched a magnificent victory.
March 27 vs. Portland Trail Blazers
Westbrook came in the way of the Portland Trail Blazers for the third time in the season and buried three sizzling blows from downtown in the defining moments of the game to seal an outstanding 99-90 victory for the Thunder. Despite
of Gerald Wallace’s season-high 40 points, Westbrook kept the momentum flowing for his team with 28 points and seven rebounds.
