Oklahoma State WR Blackmon ready to enter April's NFL draft – NFL News
The National Football League season is entering its business end and franchises are already getting ready for the NFL drafts in April with some great talent ready to enter the professional circuit.
One of the most highly coveted wide receivers is Oklahoma State University Cowboys wide receiver Justin Blackmon who has sent alarm bells ringing across the NFL with an announcement Wednesday.
Blackmon appearing at the Home Depot ESPN College Football Awards Show declared his plans to sign-up for April’s NFL draft and move into professional football.
"I'm pretty sure that it will be (my last game)," Blackmon told ESPN.com "I think it's just time. It's that time to go. I came back last year to win a Big 12 championship, set us up for a BCS bowl and I think we did that."
Blackmon will play his final game for Oklahoma State University when they face Stanford in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.
The wide receiver has although not officially submitted the paperwork to make himself available for the NFL draft but it is believed that he will do so when he returns from Florida after an Awards Ceremony where he is lined up
for the Biletnikoff Award.
"I have not done my evaluation yet. That will be something I do when I get back into town." Blackmon said.
The wide receiver is on the radar of many franchises with his physicality and natural talent, while his speed and agility make him an ideal target for quarterbacks. With his physical condition in prime condition NFL defensemen
next season will have their hands full trying to stop Blackmon and the lucky team who will draft the 21 year old.
Blackmon has had a glittering college career being awarded the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year Award in 2010 becoming the first wide receiver to take home the prestigious award. Blackmon covered 1336 receiving yards in 2010
with 113 receptions and 15 touchdowns. This season the 21 year old has 93 receptions covering 1142 yards and scoring 14 touchdowns to date.
With January 15th the last date for all who want to be available for this year’s draft pick franchises are already scouting potential picks in order to start preparations for the next National Football League season.
