Oklahoma State’s Justin Blackmon is expected to play against rival Oklahoma Sooners
Oklahoma State Cowboys standout wide receiver Justin Blackmon is expected to play this Saturday 27 November in a huge match-up against state rivals, the Oklahoma Sooners, the Tulsa World
reports. Blackmon suffered an ankle injury in last week’s game against Kansas University.
A source close to the Oklahoma State football program said Blackmon missed practice on Wednesday as he underwent therapy on his injured ankle. Because of the nature of the injury, there’s
no guarantee that Blackmon will be able to perform at a top level.
The receiver was seen wearing a protective boot and crutches earlier in the week.

The injury occurred during the third quarter of the Kansas game, when Blackmon rolled his ankle after catching a pass and running.  Blackmon returned to play soon after, and later caught
a touchdown pass.
The 10-1 Cowboys will need their star wide receiver healthy. Blackmon currently is averaging 156 yards per game, which leads the nation.

At 6'1'' and 205 pounds, the sophomore is a Biletnikoff Award finalist as the nation’s most outstanding college wide receiver, and has been mentioned as a possible Heisman candidate. Blackmon
has 94 catches for 1,560 yards and 17 touchdowns in 10 starts. He was also suspended for one game,
as result of a misdemeanor DUI.

When asked about his receiver, Oklahoma State Quarterback Brandon Weeden said, "I'm sure they (Oklahoma University) are going to have an eye on Blackmon. They are going to know where he
is at all times, but I like my chances. Without seeing a whole bunch of tape on Oklahoma, I like No. 81. I like him on my side."

If Oklahoma State wins the contest they will earn the right to represent the Big 12 South in the Big 12 championship game.
Blackmon has been compared to Dallas Cowboys rookie wide receiver sensation Dez Bryant and San Francisco 49ers Michael Crabtree by ESPN writer Tom McKean.
