  1. Okonkwo's hamartia is his hubris, ensuring that he pushes all aspects of his feminine chi from himself, therefore forcing his family away and adding to his tragedy.

    However, I would say that it is a combination of his hamartia, the tribe's traditions and the characters of Nwoye and Ikemefuna that all contribute to his downfall, simply because the riduculousness of the rules under which Okonkwo is banished causes the collapse of both the tribe and himself and, once Ikemefuna is killed, Nwoye's constant female chi around Okonkwo almost pushes him over the edge!
