  1. Yeah, it's a done deal.

  2. I don't want anyone to say anything about last year. we are going to be unstoppable in the begining of season and rock this season. I'm excited, is any one else?

  3. Yup, it's gonna happen.

Several other sources reporting talks are progressing well.

I'm looking forward to a Smith/Kolzig tandem. Maybe tomorrow we'll focus on a defenceman or two.

At least this will silence all those "Good luck without a goalie!" comments, if only for a few minutes.

  4. GO FOR IT TB!

might as well go for "broke".........

LITERALLY!, Tampa is spending like a 16 year old girl with her daddy's credit cars lol

  5. That be great for them.

    Seen Ollie?

That will give him the chance to shove it up the Capt's but all year long too!!!

  6. I love this pull, I was wanting either Kolzig or Huet...and one worked out.

Also of note, some awesome dealings thus far to set up a Prospal-Lecavalier-St Louis Line 1, and Malone-Stamkos-Vrbata Line 2.  Personally I don't feel we should be a 2 line team and take those 6 and divide them by 3....but hey, Barry will have all year to figure that out.  However Line 3 could look like Roberts/Hall-Halpern-Jussi, not bad either.

As for the Defense, I'm tired of people saying they are bad....while yes they are so-so, there is a big difference between bad and so-so, as well as there is a big difference between bad and young.  This is a very young D with STRONG potential.  Put a good Offense in front of them and Goalie behind them and you have a great set up for much needed improvement.  I would like us to pick up 2 D-men, however with under 8 Mil left we will be lucky to get 1 since our owners have faith in our D-men.

At least it is us putting too much faith in the D as apposed to too much faith in a Goalie for once....that is a nice change of pace.

  7. I'm just waiting for Melrose to coach, and subsequently ruin, this "promising" team.

Malone, possibly their biggest signing, isn't worth the money they gave him, and Roberts is all but done (though I still like him =P...) Once they address defense, or go after a real goalie, I'll take notice.

  8. Kolzig is not a starter; he might be a decent backup, although Melrose has a bad reputation with goaltenders.

  9. im bummed. i would really have liked to see Kolzig come here to Detroit to play with Ozzy.
