Old English?

My mum went to Oxford when she was in High School for an advanced English program, and part of it was learning Old English. I personally enjoy the language and would love to learn it, but do you think it is a very valuble skill, or would it just be a waste of my time?

it would be worth it. you coulld read chaucer's canterbury tales, etc.as they were written. ..a real treat. they lose so much in translation. i'm sure there are other great works in the language that have yet to be translated.

I think learning any language is a valuable skill. Learning Old English would help you appreaciate the English language of today. Also if you are successful you might learn that you have a talent for languages. Go to it.
