Old NYC bus token...?

Question

It's a brass-metal-type-thing coin with a shiny disk in the centre. Around the central disk it says, "NEW YORK CITY TRANSIT AUTHORITY" and on the flip side, it says, "GOOD FOR ONE FARE".Could some collector out there tell me around how old it is, and the approximate value?
