This one is an oldie but a goodie as I heard it when I was in high school way back in the day.

The Riddle:

You're in a dungeon cell with no way out other then 2 doors. These two doors offer two choices... that being freedom and the other being your demise. Once you pass through a door it is sealed behind you and your fate is inevitable by your choice. You have 2 parrots in your dungeon cell prison. One parrot will always lie, and the other parrot will always tell the truth. Both parrots know which door leads to your demise or freedom but you know neither the true nature of the door nor the parrots. How do you escape?

  1. open aND look through ??

  2. Ask one of the parrots what the other parrot would say had you asked for freedom, then choose the opposite door.

  3. Teach the parrots to lift weights and carry you out! :D :P

  4. You would ask either parrot what the other parrot would say.

If you ask the Parrot who tells the truth: "which door would the other parrot say is freedom"

The truth parrot would point to the demise door.

If you ask the lying parrot "which door would the other parrot say is freedom"

The lying parrot would also point to the demise door.

By asking this way both parrots will point out the true demise door.

    You're right, it's a good riddle.
