I got an Atari 2600, and other old consoles, 3 major problems.

1) i want an old school experience and the old school TV does not have a way to attach the "yelllow, white, red" cables.

2) i dont know how to attach a VCR or anything to it (for the cables)

3) the VHF attachments are strange to me, and 3 of them broke already.

basicly is there anyway to attach something that would have the video audio cables to this kind of thing?

oh and just to say this did not used cable, it has "rabbit ears" that broke / came off over the years

  1. You can use the old standard RF cable to hook up the VCR or Atari 2600 (hey I used to have one of those) to the TV's RF connection.  Then set the TV to channel 3 or 4 (whatever you set the Atari or VCR to- there's a switch on the back of both that just says Channel 3 or 4) and enjoy the classics like "Space Invaders" and "Pitfall".

  2. vhf to 75ohm transformer avilable at radio shack/walmart

  3. To attach the composite (yellow, red, white) cables you need either a "RF modulator (~$20) or an old VCR that contains a tuner.

In either case, the composite cables are connected to the color coded inputs and a standard short length of coax cable is  connected from the output to the TVs VHF antenna input. The TV is them set on either channel 3 or 4.

If you have a really old TV it might have two s***w terminals in place of the newer round coax connection. If that is the case you need a cheap matching adapter. These adapters look like a cylinder with a coax connector on one end and two wires with "U" shaped spade connectors on the other end that attach under the s***w terminals.

I have no idea of what kind of "attachments" you are talking about.

If the VCR has a tuner, it will have a round coax out jack. You just connect it to the TV's VHF input and set the TV to either channel 3 or 4. If you have a "Tunerless" VCR, use a RF modulator and set the TV to either channel 3 or 4.
