Old To New Transfer...PLEASE HELP!!?

Question

I am going to purchase a laptop within the next few weeks and i was wondering if there is any way (other than using a disc or memory stick) if i can transfer all my songs, pictures, videos etc. from my computer account onto my laptop?

If you're using Windoze, there's a Files & Settings Transfer Wizard; give that a try.

Hi your could purchase an external hard drive, or if you have a router be it wifi or not access one computer from the other ie

goto run command enter \\name of computer or ip address \c$ this will get you access to your other computers c drive.

if you dont have a router you could use a Cat5/Ethernet crossover cable to connect both via the network ports you'd need to allocate static ip addresses though

If you have a spare ethernet cable you can hook the two computers up and run windows easy transfer on the new computer (if it is Vista).  It can migrate your old computer to the new one.

Otherwise, you can buy migration software separately (but be sure it comes with an ethernet, firewire, or USB cable so you can transfer the data).
