Question:

Old Warrior 35 or Westerly 33 / Discus?

I like the Warrior 35 as a go anywhere sea boat but most that are for sale in my budget are tired but could be brought up to a good standard but they will still be 1960's boats. Would a westerly 33 (Discus) be as good a boat, they are newer and seem therefore to be in better condition, logically; but they seem to be smaller inside, though I guess that by photos only as i have only viewed the Warrior 35. They say a '33 or Discus will cope with any weather, I am sure a Warrior will! Any views on this will be appreciated, I am on a total top budget of £30,000 and at that it's a push, the Warriors are between 20/26,000 to buy (adverts at 30,000) the westerly comes in around 28/30,000.

Thanks, looking forward to your thoughts/advise

  1. If you want a Category "A" boat that can go almost anywhere, consider as well a Fisher 30 motor sailer.  There are some pictures of two examples on this link, and there are many more on Google.  Good luck in your search. http://www.motor-sailers-online.co.uk/
