I was just wondering if the age of the wood in acoustic guitars change the sound quality of the guitar.

  1. Absolutely. Most luthiers age their wood to begin with, and then the completed instrument continues to age, often sounding better and better as time goes by. For example, I prefer a spruce top on my acoustics because as it ages, it seems to sound richer and deeper, which is ultimately what I prefer.
