its odd because it works perfectly on my other TV even the amp comes on theres just no output when i connect it to my plasma tv

tu/tape, cd & vcd are the options i can connect from which is the best to chose?

this has really boggled me as i thought this would work straight away as it does on my non plasma tv

is there any special cord i need to connect these speakers?

does it make a difference that the speakers have negative & positive wires? they are connected to the amp perfectly if anyone can help thanks in advance

  1. You don't provide enough detail re how you are trying to connect things to say for sure, but do the following:

This is a logical problem that can usually be solved by a stepwise approach.

First -- and don't take this wrong, I just want to be sure we've checked the basics -- you can't power speakers directly from most TVs, so I assume you have the TV connected to the amp and the amp has the speakers properly connected (test by connecting any input  -- e.g. a CD or DVD player -- to see if you get sound).

If you have sound from the speakers with some other source than the TV move to the next step.

If not, you have your problem isolated to the amp, speakers or input cable to the amp and I'm done.

If the amp/speakers tested OK, verify how the TV is/was connected to the amp. You must use an analog "audio out" (i.e. red and white RCA jacks) on the TV. Don't be fooled by an orange RCA jack ... it's a digital output and if you use it with an analog amp it won't work.

You should wire the audio ouptput from the TV via a standard RCA patch cord to the input of the amp. It shouldn't matter which input you use on the amp ... but try the same one (e.g. CD) used when you tested the amp earlier. Make sure the amp input selector is set for this same input. Any sound now?

If not you may have to set a menu item in the TV to get sound to the output? It might be called something like "external speakers".

That should solve your problems. e-mail if you still have a problem and tell me what you tried.

  2. Without model numbers there is little helping you.

  3. If you could give the make and model of the amp or list the connections on the back, and do the same for the TV, it would help out a lot.
