Old car Cassette Tape Player?

Hi, I had something very funny that happened in my car. See I got this old car as a gift its a 1999 Dodge Caravan. A friend wanted to scrap it and gave it to me instead for free.

Now when i used to play the old cassettes in its player, the player used to detect (when you fast forwarded or reminded ) when each song was over and automatically stop.

I didint know why it did that cause rewinding to be quite a pain in the *** if you know what I mean. I never knew how it did that. I tried different cassettes and also there it detected at every song ending it stoped and you lisined from the beguinning...

Then suddenly poof the charm dissapeared and all back to normal. A friend of mine has a tape that does the same thing. Now I wonder since I sometimes find that "charm" useful how it is called and how to turn it on or off.

I dont recall doing anything special and the function stopped. it now rewinds all the wayback and forward not stopping but I want to use it to re-listen to a same song

  1. So, this is basically just an anecdote, eh?

  2. Some tape decks have a function for searching on them, they will pick up the break between tracks and automatically stop FF or RWD at them then start playing.
