I was wondering if it would be safe for my pet rabbit to play with an old car tire. I would have it lying on it side so she could jump in and out of it. She has just resently had babies and I wanted to add more fun toys and things for her to explore in her play area for her and her babies when she wants to go out and play so if you have any ideas for her play pen let me know. And she has a pretty big pen so dont hold back.

THANKS!!!!!!!!

  1. I guess its alright as long as they dont decide to eat it.

Also i doubt that i guess she would probably do it

    to grind her teeth.

I'd recommend a block of wood that doesn't splinter,

a salt l**k. Sometimes they enjoy ripping paper

    or newspaper too.

  2. Ummm... the tire sounds like it would be okay as long as you washed it with a mild soap and as long as she/he is supervised while playing with the tire at ALL times. As for play things you could try stuffing a clean sock with timothy or alfalfa hay and sewing it up tightly (my guinea pig loves dragging socks around and the hay which is great for all small animals makes playing all the more enticing....You might also try paper towel and toilet paper rolls ....your rabbits may enjoy dragging them from place to place... the most fun thing would probably be to go to petco or petsmart to buy these edible hideaways shaped as logs and huts that they have (they are 100% edible and super yummy for most small animals) they should be located next to the rabbit food or aisle. There are also chewing blocks available in various shapes colors and sizes!!! I have a guinea pig and she loves the bells  from some of my birds toys so I usually hang one or two in her cage and when shes hungry she taps it with her nose so you might also try that as long as you make sure the toy is sturdy enough for them to play with. Ummm. sometimes stuffed animals can be fun as long as they dont have the kind of stuffing you get from bean bags in them because it could pose as a choking hazard if your rabbits chew through the stuffed toy. Just remember to be creative and to check their toys regularly for holes, splintered wood, and loose pieces/stuffing ect...

*oh and for the sock idea change out the sock and hay every so often so the hay does not become stale

PS I hope I was able to help and remember the most fun a rabbit can have is one on one time with its owner(s)

I hope you and your rabbits have fun!!!

  3. A tire would be good as long as she dose not chew it. A tube would be nice, igloo, baby/parrot or rabbit toys. Bunny pop corn.
