Question:

Old highschool classmates not my type of crowd?

My highschool class reunion is being planned and they are choosing to have the events in places I wouldn't go on my own time. The last class reunion was very awkward for me because they chose to have a fish fry in this trashy park and they all went to a club that was totally a hole in the wall. They are asking me to come this year. I would love to participate in the events, I just don't want to go to places that they have chosen. What would you do in this situation? Would you go or stick to your standards and not go?

  1. Wow.  You would think 23 year old planners (average age at a 5th year reunion) would have a little more class.  I would decline and tell them you are all old enough to be going somewhere besides those trashy locations.  Time to grow up.

Maybe you can invite a group of your close high school friends to go hang out somewhere more classy for an evening around the time of the reunion.

  2. dont go

  3. Mmmm. Skip it.

  4. your standards?

for gawd's sake if that is how you look at it by no means should you go, you would be a dreadful bore, apparently, so do what you want to, and tell them it is not your thing

i guess i sound sort of harsh, but that just sounds so snotty and condescending to go on the way you are

if there is no one person to appeal to who would listen to your reasons, then i really doubt you would enjoy yourself

    peace, out
