  1. Old bank statements/cancelled checks.  Who did you pay?

  2. The previous answer is indeed correct. Most companies expect the proof of NCD to be less than 12 months old. For a specific answer to your question, click the link below to visit swiftcover.com policy wording.

  3. Unfortunately if your last policy with the no claims bonus expired more than 2 years ago (or 3 years if you take out insurance with Norwich Union) then no insurance company will accept it. It looks like you will have to start again with 0 years no claims bonus - unfair isn't it, it's not like you've forgotten how to drive, but that's insurance companies for you - I think it's disgraceful!

PS. You would get more answers if you put this question in the 'Insurance & Registration' section in 'Cars & Transportation'.

  4. It depends on the state you are in.  If it is a state like MA or NY that tracks your insurance with a tie to registration, you may be able to find out from the DMV.  If not, there is really no way to find out aside from your own personal banking records.

  5. If you have an online bank account, you might be able to check your old bank statements for 3 years ago.  Failing that, you could ask your bank to send you paper copies of the statements, but you'll probably have to pay for them.

Be aware that a lot of insurance companies won't accept no claims bonus which is more than 3 years old.
