Old newspapers values and worth?

Okay a friend of mine found the 5 news papers of the new york times dated april 15, 1861. sept 23,1862, july 6, 1863, april 10 1865, and april 15, 1865. i understand that they look original couple are yellowed a little more than the other three but all five are in super good condition. I also understand the one of them said something about Lincolns assassination and also another about the free of the slaves. Can anyone tell me these papers might be worth????

I would suggest that you advertise them on EBay, and see what is offered.

Newspapers and such are worth whatever someone is willing to pay for them, and your friend just may be lucky enough to find someone with deep pockets.

This site will get you a price quote. It all the depends on what stories were in a paper on those days. Such as a paper with a headline of the sinking of the Titanic will get more than a paper that does not have much news for the day.http://auctionwally.blogspot.com/2007/09...
