Old people?

how come old people either get sweeter or meaner as they get old i was working last night and some old guy was all like i want some coffee now do you know how to do that or are you just dumb it hurt my feelings :(

I am 61 and, in my experience, people don't get meaner just because they age (unless their are medical or mental problems involved and that's a whole different situation).  If an older person is mean you can bet they were mean when they were younger as well.  We may tend to be more opinionated as we age (after all, we've been there, done that, and have the tee shirts to prove it!) but most people mellow with age.  Age, neither young or old, is never an excuse to be rude or hateful.  Idiots come in all shapes, sizes and ages.

Oh, that's so mean. If I worked with you, and I heard him say that,  I probably would of poured hot coffee on his head.

That's ok, I was at a buffet, and this old lady yelled at me. I was getting macaroni, and I really like macaroni so I was getting a couple of scoops (It was also one of the only thing there that looked good)

Anyway, this old lady walks up to me and got mad, because I was getting macaroni. She said I should move if someone older wanted to get some, and then when she was done, then I could finish getting my food. I got kind of mad.

Then I was getting a role, and she walks up behind me and starts coughing, you know the cough that means get out of my way. Ugh, I was so mad, I wanted to through a roll at her, but I didn't.

Oh yeah. I was taking a class at hunter, after school. I was leaving, and I walked through the door, to find my mom. A few seconds later this old Asia guy came through the door and started yelling at me. He was saying things like "You don't have any respect, children should have respect for their elders. In my country, people have respect." It took me a minute before I realized he was mad because I didn't hold the door for him, but I didn't even see him. Any way it was really funny and as soon as I got in the car I started laughing.

I know that didn't really answer your question. I don't know why some old people are mean, I just know that some are.

Hope your next time at work is better. Don't worry, you probably won't ever see him again anyway.

Its because theyre lonely and then theyre mad and they think theyre smartest on the world and they get crancky.

I am sorry they said that and hurt ur feelings... that wasnt nice of them... but if i had to guess why they get mean is bc they are probably alone and have no reason to be happy... they might be really bored and have nothing better to do too.. but i dont really know... sorry

Some people can get bitter because of life experiences, but I think most people don't change that much as they get older.

They were most likely rude all their lives.  There is no excuse for bad manners like that, I really hate to see anyone put down or be rude to people when they are working in a shop or restaurant especially, there is no excuse for them.
