Old slider windows letting bugs and rain in...

I have old slider windows and when I have the window open w/ screens on, bugs always find their way into the inside of the window..they end up flying around and dying on the inside. Rain also tends to seep in the window. Is there a way to adjust the screens so i don't have the bugs and rain? Thanks

  1. The screens are probably a little bent or warped. You need to either buy new screens or Duct Tape the screens where they meet the sills, all the way around to keep the bugs out. Water getting in around the windows is a different story.  There must be a break in the seal somewhere letting rain in. Find it and seal it.  They should be able to tell you what you need to seal it with at any home care store...like Home Depot or Lowe's or most hardware stores. Probably some sort of caulk or putty :)

  2. The door may not be set on the slider properly the rain will come in if the door is not set in the track right. Good Luck

  3. If bugs are coming in there is somewhere that is not sealing around the edges or there are holes through the screen. As for rain coming through, it is a screen, it has holes to allow the flow of air through and when there are holes water can also come through.
