Old tv remote control

Question

My parents have an old tv set (stereo with phone incl. might be an 1984 or so but I could'nt find the model.) It still look fine,
And the remote control seems to be half dead.
Or it might be the captor on the tv set???

I tried an universal remote control, but it wont go.
I dont think it takes anything older than 1990...
I could'nt find the model anywhere on the net, but I'm still wondering if there is anything I can do
