Older female dog in heat ?

i have a 10yr old female chow and she is in heat, i also have a 6month old lab female puppy, now my chow has not liked the lab pup at all and now she is in heat and they are playing , the older chow is trying to hump the female pup , and i want to know why that is , can anyone tell me why ??

  1. It is a sign of dominance. You should really get your dog spayed at her age she runs a greater risk for pyometra which is an infection of the uterus that can only be fixed by removing it during emergency surgery that cost 4 times as much as a routine spay.

  3. Female dogs hump. It's normal, especially if one is in heat. It's a sign of dominance, over-excitement, or wanting to mate.

    No worries, unless she becomes obsessive and the pup can't fight her off. If that's the case, pull the chow off her.

  4. Well is it bleeding all over if it is you might want to put diapers on it if not then don't worry about it
