Older men taking advantae of younger females.?

Question

What is your opinion of an older male dating a younger female. In my case, 40 year old male dating a 19 year old female. Do you think that hes taking advantage of me,could something productive come out of this relationship, and do you know anycouples with a big age gap(how are they doing)?

We dont "date" but several younger type try to hook up with me. I dont really know why. Chances are you two will grow apart as you age.

I don't think its a matter of taking advantage, but more along the lines of, He's 40 yrs old and sees the chance of dating someone well half his age, and wants NO long term relationship at all, but see yougner females see a older man that is stable (ie job career etc..) and see him as a 'father figure' as well (not in a 'sick' way), but many girls look up to their fathers

My parents are ten years apart.

Both my brother and I were "surprises", my brother the most. My mom was 18 when she had him. They still love each other, and our family is totally functionable, but I think mom had my brother when she was way too young.

I think your both taking advantage of each other. He isn't forcing you to date him, you have decided that yourself. Older men can't take advantage of younger females unless she is so mentally underdeveloped (like a 15 year old) that she doesn't really know what she's doing. But 19 or older, your both grown enough to know exactly whats going on and to decide to date each other.

My husband is 30 years older than me. We have been married for 3 years now. He has some more old fashioned views on things of course than me...but hey everyone is different anyway. I think it could be just as likely that a 20 year old man would take advantage as a 40 year old. Give it some time and pretty soon you'll know.

please do yourself a favor and save yourself  a lot of time and trouble;  yes, he is most likely taking advantage of you, be careful

Im 29, he's 54. We take advantage of each other constantly :)-

No shame,enjoy yourself if he doesnt propose in due time, move on.
