Older people more disrespectful nowadays?

Okay, I'm 26 years old and normally, I get along very well with older people. I've been raised in an old fashioned way and have been taught to be very respectful to everybody, especially my elders, and I am. And usually, I get along very well with the people aged 75 and older. But the people who are about 60-75 are just plain mean, to everyone!!!! It's like they go around looking for you to mess up in any kind of way so they can yell at you about it! If you drive just a bit faster or talk a bit louder, they start yelling at you and telling you what to do. How the h**l am I supposed to respect that?! And what makes people think they are so entitled? Because they actually lived through WWII? Yeah, I'll give you more respect when you don't hold up the lines at ATM machines or self check-outs because you don't know how machines work. Every age has their flaws, and I've tried to be respectful of their ways. Why can't they be respectful to ours?

Yes old people these days act like everyone around them are idiots and get frustrated when you have to ask them to repeat themselves, but if they new how to speak clearly then there'd be no problem.

remember some are in pain 24/7 so they have a right to be a little off key -- but the old folks think age demands respect - i am 68 and i know you do not demand respect you earn it!!!

Don't drive so fast or yell so much.  Also, if someone can't see very well anymore or has bad arthritis or has not used an ATM before or not for a while, it takes longer.  This question doesn't sound very respectful of older people to me.  

I've noticed that all classes and ages of people are not as respectful as the used to be.  There are exceptions but in general, most people today are more rude and selfish.
