Oleg Utekhin wins Men’s 50m breast-stroke semi-final: 2011 FINA World Junior Championships
Oleg Utekhin of Russia put up a great show on day five of the 2011 FINA World Junior Championships semi-final heat in Lima, Peru, on Saturday, August 20. The session of the championships held Men’s’ 50m breast-stroke semi-final race, where Utekhin came out
strongly and hit the wall in 28.43 seconds to win the heat. After the race, Utekhin was pleased with his splash in the event.
In the corresponding meet, Akihiro Yamaguchi of Japan wound up second with a winning time of 28.53 seconds. Panagiotis Samilidis of Greece was placed third in a time of 28.61 seconds, while Harry Craig Benson of Great Britain earned fourth place honours
with a mark of 28.72 seconds. Angelito Cassandra of Brazil rounded out the top five in a time of 28.76 seconds.
Meanwhile, Nicolas Fink of United States of America was placed sixth with an impressive mark of 28.79 seconds and Bastian Vollmer of Germany earned seventh place honours in a time of 28.90 seconds. In the corresponding meet, Roman Trussov of Kazakhstan was
placed eighth in a time of 29.09 seconds.
Anton Tischenko of Russia wound up ninth with a mark of 29.11 seconds. Jakub Sevcik of Czech Republic was placed tenth in a time of 29.13 seconds, whereas, Paul Wiechhusen of German finished eleventh after he touched the finishing wall and ended his swim
in a time of 29.25 seconds.
In the meantime, Flavio Bizzarri of Italy was placed twelfth with a mark of 29.30 seconds and Ximing Wang of China settled thirteenth in 29.40 seconds. Roberto Parisi of Italy wound up fourteenth with a time of 29.61 seconds, while Feilian Mao of China was
placed fifteenth in a time of 29.64 seconds. Last, but not the least, Elfar Tarek Mohamed of Egypt finished sixteenth after he touched the finishing blockade with a mark of 30.02 seconds. After the race, Mohamed was not really pleased and satisfied with his
swim in the respective meet.
The arena applauded for the scintillating swims of the winners in the Men’s 50m breast-stroke semi-final heat.
