Oleksandr Horshkov shocked to see Zenit St. Petersburg fail against Lokomotiv Moscow
The former Zenit St. Petersburg central midfielder, Oleksandr Horshkov, could not hide his frustration on seeing his former club lose against Lokomotiv Moscow in the latest Russian Premier League encounter. The Bomzhi lost 4-2 against the Railway Men, conceding
all four goals in the second half of the meeting at Lokomotiv stadium.
The Meshki managed to pressurize the home team and scored two goals in the first half of the match but struggled to defend their lead, and conceded four goals in the second period.
Horshkov revealed that he was shocked to see the Bomzhi display and admitted that the Meshki missed a golden chance to increase the difference from the third-placed CSKA Moscow.
The Russian midfielder believes that Zenit are a strong team and gave the example of their performances against FC Krasnodar and PFK Samara Kryliya Sovetov. The Meshki had managed to score ten goals in back-to-back league meetings against Krasnodar and Samara
before playing against the Moscow-based club.

The 41-year-old heaped praise on the Red-Greens performance since appointing Jose Couceiro as their head coach. The Moscow-based club are claiming fabulous results under the Portuguese coach and managed climb up to fifth spot on the league table.
“The outcome of the match is a complete surprise. In the first half the score was 2-0 and Zenit seemed to have claimed the victory. I do not think that Zenit suffered a loss by a Spalletti mistake. He is an experienced and qualified specialist, who has repeatedly
proved his skills. So do not blame the coach; let's pay tribute to the opponent.” The former SKA Tashkent player was quoted as saying.
Horshkov insisted that the Bomzhi need to learn a massive lesson from the defeat against the Loko and hoped for a better performance in the upcoming league meeting against FK Rubin Kazan.
