Olesen in good form before the Lyoness Open
It is again time for one of the most awaited events on the European Tour, the Lyoness Open. The venue for this auspicious four-day event is the Diamond Country Club in Atzenbrug.
The event starts from the 25th of July and ends on the 28th of July. Players from all over the world are going to gather at this platform to battle for glory.
Last year, the event was won by English professional golfer, Kenneth Ferrie. In the Open last year Kenneth Ferrie and Simon Wakefield were tied at twelve-under par after four rounds at Diamond Club.
Both the players went in the playoffs and in the end, Ferrie was successful in holding off Wakefield.
The 33-year-old, Kenneth Ferrie would be looking this year to defend his title and once again raise the trophy as the Austrian Champion.
This year it is going to be a tough tournament as many stars of the game are going head to head for this prestigious title.
This year many amateurs are back with a bit more experience and many players are again coming with tremendous form. The list of players in good form also includes Danish professional golfer Thorbjorn Olesen.
Olesen is a player with very little experience. He turned professional in the year 2008 and has played professional golf for hardly four years. In that time, he has shown great promise.
In total, he has six professional wins. The only major tournament he has played in is the British Championship Open this year and finished tied at the ninth position.
Despite the lack of experience, the 22-year-old has really evolved his games and shown that he is one of the best in the world. In this year’s British Open, he displayed a fine four-day performance.
He was very consistent throughout the event. His rounds were 69, 66, 71 and 74. In the end his total score was par. His winnings in the tournament at Lytham were $124,343.
This has confirmed that Olesen is one of the top contenders for the Open at Atzenbrug. Looking at his form, he is likely to put up a tough fight for the title.
