Olevia 232T and S-Video

I hooked up my s-video cable from my computer to my tv and the tv says "No Signal". I'm trying to watch videos that on my tv that are on my laptop. So can someone tell me what I need to do. Once I get a signal how do I tell my computer or the tv to share the information. Help appreciated. Meshell
