  1. Vizio > Olevia

They are almost the same though.

Depending how much you want to spend you might want to check out a refurbished TV - www.ecost.com has some pretty good deals.

  2. i have an olevia 27 inch LCD HDTV and a TiVo DVR. THE d**n TIVO REMOTE IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH MY TV! so i have to use my tv remote to raise/lower the volume.

  3. Neither company offers great service, so consider a purchase from somebody that offers an extended warranty and in-home service (or you will be shipping your TV back to California at your expense).

Vizio has vastly improved on their reliability; though they are not a Sony or Samsung yet. Pick the Vizio over the Olivia because of its better reliability and superior picture quality.

  4. When you're buying an HDTV, you should really "go big or go home".  You're gonna regret buying a cheap brand like Vizio.  Better to get a smaller Samsung than a big Vizio that will have problems.

  5. I have a Vizio 42 LCD - I have had it for over a year. It has great clarity and flexibility with its inputs. The only drawback is the speakers - not great - but that is a common thing in many LCD TV's - a surround system easily takes care of that problem.

I do not consider it a cheap brand. It is a newer brand coming into the market as opposed to Sony or Samsung which of course are good products - however, you are paying for the well known name brand.

Also, if you get a warranty (3 years) then you a good to go. I suggest purchase at Sams (whole sale place/ membership) or some place like that. If the price is under 1,000 before tax then your warranty is like seventy nine dollars as opposed to 200 or 300 that you would pay for at another store on the same product.

  6. LOL, this question is like asking would you prefer to be shot or stabbed to death. Both are cheap garbage. You'd be better off holding off and saving a few more bucks and getting a brand that you will actually be happy with.
