The former German international insists that Podolski has a bright future but he can achieve nothing at FC Koln.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Oliver-c28477 Bierhoff backs Lukas Podolski’s possible move to Arsenal after the Premier League club reignited their interest in the German international. Podolski has been on Arsenal’s radar for the past few months and was almost certain
to join them in this year’s January transfer window.
The former Germany international believes that Podolski will not take long to settle down in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749. He stated that the striker should grab this opportunity with both hands and make his switch to the London based outfit at the
end of this season. He opines that the attacker needs to quickly reassess his future in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 as he has been giving his best for the club but has achieved nothing.
Bierhoff reckons that Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, will further polish the 26-year-old’s skills if the transfer is successful. He feels that Podolski should not even consider extending his stay at Koln despite his affection
for the club. The attacker will run out of contract at the end of next season and Arsenal would need to pay in the region of 16 million Euros in order to complete this move during the summer.
While talking to local newspaper, Express, the 43-year-old further added:
"The heart of Podolski belongs to Cologne. But he's now at an age, where he has to think about his future. For Podolski it [Arsenal] would be a good place [to play], because Arsene Wenger is an outstanding coach, who could bring
Lukas to a next level."
Podolski has been in tremendous form this season for the Billy Goats with 15 league goals from 18 appearances. However, the striker has been constantly frustrated due to lack of silverware and might complete his move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429
once the 2011/12 season expires.
According to the reports, both parties have partially agreed to this transfer but nothing has been finalised yet from the Cologne officials. The bosses, though, have confirmed that they will not stand in Podolski’s way if he wishes
to part ways with the club at the end of the season.
