The former Bavarian goalkeeper insists that Bayern still have a chance and claims that his former side should not give up on the title.
Jupp Heynckes’ side has had a dismal second-half of the campaign and is seven points behind reigning champions Borussia Dortmund currently. The Munich based outfit’s chances of lifting the crown at the end of the campaign are fading
after a series of disappointing performances off-late.
Kahn is surprised with Bayern’s contrasting displays this season and admitted that the team has been unable to capitalize on a brilliant start to the campaign. He admitted that the determination has lacked in the past few weeks
and the defeats have certainly got the better of the players.
The Bavarian legend insisted that a seven point gap is nothing considering 10 games are still to be played in the league until the season ends. He stated that any slip up from Borussia Dortmund in the remaining games of the campaign
would bring Bayern back in contention so it is not a lost cause.
“No because Bayern played dominant football [at the start of the season]. What surprises me is that they have almost given up the championship. What are seven points in 10 games? But the fact is that there is not 100 per cent inner
conviction,” the former goalkeeper was quoted as saying in an interview.
The 42-year old added that Bayern lack confidence at the moment and have admitted defeat at this point. He insisted that at some point of time Jurgen Klopp’s side will slip and that is the time when the Bavarians have to capitalize.
The former player is, however, confident that the Reds will end the season with the league title.
“Dortmund's current strength seems to affect the Bayern players, pushing them off track. However, [Bayern] should not give up faith in the title. Eventually, Dortmund's streak will end,” he concluded.
Bayern Munich also face the prospect of being knocked out in the UEFA Champions League at the hands of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Basel-c39079. The former European champions lost the first-leg with a 1-0 margin and have to win with a  two goal difference to
qualify for the next round of the competition.
