The former Bayern Munich goalkeeper has suggested his previous employers to remain calm against Real Madrid in the second-leg of their Champions League semi-final.
Former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Oliver-c28477 Kahn, has advised the Munich giants to take things easy against Real Madrid. He was talking ahead of the second-leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final tie against Los
Blancos on Wednesday, April 25, at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Bayern are currently leading the Spanish outfit by a slender 2-1 margin and will have to be on their toes from the word go. He warned the Reds against Madrid’s backlash who can be ominous at home and score at will in a must-win
clash.
Kahn stressed at the importance of keeping possession for most of the period and try stopping the home side from scoring early. He mentioned that Real will undoubtedly have tremendous support and Bayern’s only chance to progress
further is to score an important away goal which is the best way to exert pressure on Jose Mourinho’s men.
While talking to a local sports publication, TZ, the 42-year-old further added: "You have to make sure that you're not getting carried away. It's important to remain calm and relaxed, especially in such a partisan atmosphere. Real
generally score a lot of goals in home games. They're always capable of netting two or three times at the Bernabeu.”
On the other hand, Kahn expressed his confidence in Bayern’s current side which is blessed with quality footballers such as Franck Ribery, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arjen-Robben-c6521 and Mario Gomez. However, he reckons that the Allianz Arena outfit might be
at a disadvantage after conceding a vital away goal in the first-leg.
The former shot stopper mused that a win is always a confidence booster but a scoreless draw in the first-leg might have been a better result for Bayern prior to travelling to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011. “Bayern, however, are a team that you can rely
on at any time. It's impossible to tell how things will go. A 2-1 win in the first leg is not a good result. A scoreless draw is perhaps even better,” Kahn concluded.
Bayern are fresh from a 2-1 win over Werder Bremen at the weekend in the Bundesliga but have already lost any remaining hopes of winning the title. Borussia Dortmund have already grabbed the crown by defeating Borussia Monchengladbach
with two games still to be played in the competition.
