Former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Philipp-Lahm-c29929 should take the criticism positively and improve themselves rather than taking it as an insult. He admitted that
it is difficult for the players but added that the harsh reality cannot be changed.
Kahn had earlier criticized Lahm and Schweinsteiger that they lacked the leadership qualities to head a club of the stature of Bayern Munich in Europe. His comments were not taken positively by the duo and Schweinsteiger stated
that the matter could have been addressed internally.
Oliver Kahn claimed that both Lahm and Schweinsteiger should take the next step in development and that criticism is always good as it improves you as a player. He suggested that both players should look to improve on their mistakes
rather than blame others.
The 42-year old further added that he would have taken the comments with a positive frame of mind and would have not reacted with the way the midfielder has.
“Both of them want to and both of them should now take the next step in their development. Criticism annoyed me too in the past, but it made me ask questions of myself and that is the kind of attitude I would recommend. I would
certainly not have reacted like I had been insulted,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The former German international further added that he has the freedom of expressing his clear opinion on things and no one can stop him doing that. He also suggested Schweinsteiger to react with respect and improve on his field
performances.
“If I am asked something, then I give my clear opinion. Maybe Schweinsteiger should actually consider how he can improve in this field rather than reacting so thin-skinned,” he concluded.
Oliver Kahn made a staggering 429 Bundesliga appearances for Bayern Munich in his 14 years at the club. The shot stopper also has 86 international caps to his name and has been named the German Footballer of the Year on two occasions.
