Oliver Kahn predicts a tough campaign ahead for Bayern Munich- Bundesliga News
The former Germany and Bayern Munich goalkeeper, Oliver Kahn, has predicted a tough campaign ahead for the Bavarian giants following their inconsistent run in the last four league games.
He was of the view that Bayern are in serious danger of being left behind, with the recent progress of Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Monchengladbach.
Kahn was talking ahead of Bayern’s important game against Werder Bremen on Saturday, December 3, at Allianz-Arena. A win would take the Reds atop the league table if both Dortmund and Gladbach end up on even terms in their game on Saturday.
The former goalie was of the view that Bayern could be in serious danger of being deprived from another league title and need to get their act together sooner rather later.
While further commenting on Bayern’s chances, Kahn told that Borussia Dortmund would definitely give the Reds a good run for their money especially if they get knocked out of the Champions League. He opined that it might be a better result for Klopp’s men
as they would get a chance to focus solely on the Bundesliga.
He also signalled at Borussia Monchengladbach’s threat, saying that the Foals have certainly been a surprise package this season, and Bayern would have to be aware of their progress, too, in order to regain their lost supremacy.
While talking to Bild, the former shot stopper further mentioned:
"Borussia Dortmund have what it takes to be a very serious contender again this year. It looked like Bayern were going to win the league rather easily only two weeks ago, but they have helped BVB back in the race.”
"Dortmund have a huge advantage if they are going out of the European competitions and can solely focus on the Bundesliga. This could mean that Bayern won't win the league as easily as many expected not too long ago." The goalie concluded.
Bayern are currently third in the league table with 28 points, one point adrift of the Black Yellows and the Foals. The Reds will next be in action against the fourth placed Werder Bremen, who are two points short of the Allianz-Arena outfit.
